This smoothie is loaded with green vegetable energy with some added zesty flavors. Ingredients: one cucumber, three cups raw spinach, two cups honeydew melon, one cup green tea, one teaspoon lemon juice, ½ inch ginger root.

Instead of Dessert:

With this shake you can indulge in the taste of chocolaty bliss without the negative effects. Ingredients: one cup almond milk, six tablespoons oats, one tablespoon chia seeds, one tablespoon almond butter, one tablespoon cacao powder, ¼ teaspoon vanilla extract.

The main ingredients for stir-frying are proteins such as beans and tofu; vegetables such as broccoli, snap peas and carrots; and aromatics such as green onions, garlic, ginger, and shallots.

It is important to know all the steps of stir-frying before your start cooking. First, prep enough ingredients for a number of meals at the same time before cooking them. This allows you to drastically cut the amount of time spent in the kitchen the next time you have stir-fry. Start by chopping your ingredients into small pieces that are easy to cook.

After prepping your ingredients, make a bit of sauce to add extra flavor to your meal. Stir-fry sauce can be made with soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, and cornstarch.

Start cooking by tossing your proteins into a wok with a bit of oil using medium to high heat. Cook until the proteins are golden brown. Remove the proteins from the wok and add the aromatics first, then the vegetables. Cook until they are tender or more crisp as desired. Afterwards, add back the proteins into the wok and mix. Now stir the mixture to the side of the wok, creating a hole at the center and pour in your sauce. When the sauce starts to bubble and darken, toss everything back together until all ingredients are coated and then serve your stir-fry!
